Max leads Decisio’s commercial work across the UK water sector, bringing a water science background to the way utilities plan, operate and invest.
Max has led sales, business development and commercial strategy for the water sector since September 2025, having joined Business Modelling Applications in September 2023 as Product Owner for Decisio Cloud for Water. In that time he has driven sustained double-digit year-on-year growth across water, wastewater and bioresources, and contributed to the private equity acquisition of BMA.
He is a water scientist by training. Before BMA he spent two and a half years at AECOM as a consultant water scientist, working on hydrological and hydraulic modelling, river restoration optioneering and the detailed design of hydroecological solutions - including fish passage design on the River Dee and WINEP river restoration work across the Severn and Trent catchments.
That background is the point: his view is that the regulated water sector is at an inflection point, and that modern planning demands whole-system thinking and decision intelligence well beyond traditional modelling - a case PR29 has made more urgent.
Max holds a Master’s in Earth Resources Engineering from the University of Bologna, awarded 110/110 with honours, and a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Modena e Reggio Emilia.
